We
have received a lot of interest about the project and have
received many requests from artists and artist management for
more
information. So, we've put together
this FAQ to answer most of your inquiries.
Q.
Does this submission and payment mean our band will definitely be on
the compilation CD?
A.
Yes. Once you have submitted your application form, payment and songs,
you are definitely secured a spot on the compilation CD.
Q.
Where is the CD being promoted?
A.
Internationally to 500 recipient organisations which includes
university, college, community, and independent Internet radio stations
in Australia, New Zealand,
Europe, the UK and the USA.
Q. Do
I get a copy of the CD?
A.
Yes. All artists appearing on the CD receive their own personal copy
and a compiled list of the 500 recipient organisations to enable the
artists and artist
management to do their own personal promotional follow up.
Q.
What if I want more than one copy of the CD release?
A.
Good question. No-ones come up with that one yet. We'd be
looking
at: cost + postage which would depend also on how many you required
and where they get sent.
Q.
When will the CD be released? (REVISED)
A.
The Projected Release Date at this stage is some time Feb 2010, this
all depends on when the CD is finalised. More precise
detail
will be available closer
to the time of CD release or revised release date.
Addendum: RELEASE DATE: 31st May 2010.
Q.
What happens if there are lots and lots of submissions?
A.
We are actually hoping to receive "lots and lots of submissions" as
this project is an ongoing promotion and once Volume 1 has been
released we will proceed
to compile the Downunda Thunda Radio MP3 Compilation CD Volume 2. The
process being a perpetual promotional event with a projected release of
four CDs
per year minimum.
Q. Is
there a list of where the CD will be distributed?
A.
Yes. A compiled list of the 500 recipient organisations will accompany
your copy of the CD to enable the artists and artist management to do
their own personal
promotional follow up.
Q. Is
the CD for sale?
A.
No. The CD is for promotional purposes only. However if you,
the
artist, requires more than one copy you will only be charged the cost
price of the CD and
postage.
Q.
Are there other promotions associated with the CD release?
Q.
What is the purpose of the compilation CD?
A.
The Downunda Thunda Radio MP3 Compilation CD Vol.1 is part of our
effort toward the promotion of independent music artists who
apply to be on the
compilation CD release
and to increase the awareness and exposure of independent music and
music artists currently receiving air play on the DTR & LLR
broadcast facilities and also new artists
who sign on
during the current promotion. The entire project is
constructed
to increase the awareness of the services and promotions that we offer
as a promoter and broadcaster
of independent music but more importantly to promote the artists
themselves.
Q. Do
I still own the rights to my music?
A.
Yes. DTR makes no claim over the music or the artists and ownership of
the music material is retained by the artists at all times, hence the
non-exclusive license
granted to DTR by the artists allowing us to promote their music as
outlined in the conditions set forth on the main website.
Q. Is
this a money making, for profit, exercise?
A.
No. The funds submitted by the artists go entirely toward the
production and distribution costs associated with the CD release which
includes the production
of the finished CD, CD label and cover printing costs, and postage
costs for the distribution of the CD. After all costs have been
accounted for, if
there are any remaining funds these will be channeled towards the cost
of further CD releases and promotions.
